Let me start with a confession.
Most of us are not lost. We are just distracted.
Between family expectations, social media timelines, church advice, motivational quotes, and that one uncle who keeps asking, “So what are you really doing with your life?” clarity can feel like a luxury. But the purpose is not hidden. It is revealed. Slowly. Quietly. Often, while you are busy doing ordinary things. Here are ten ways I have learned to realign when life feels noisy.

Purpose is not something you hunt down like a job opening. It shows up in patterns. What keeps pulling at you? What do people naturally come to you for? If everyone around you sees something in you except you, maybe it is time to listen.
Instead of asking, “What should I be doing with my life?” try asking, “What kind of person am I becoming?” Purpose follows identity, not the other way around. Clarity grows when you focus on who you are shaping, not just what you are chasing.
Not every good idea is your assignment. Not every opportunity is alignment. Some paths look impressive but leave you empty. Others look simple but feel deeply right. Learn the difference between applause and peace.
There is a season for planting and a season for harvesting. Nigeria has taught us patience in ways no book ever could. If this season feels slow, it may be forming you, not punishing you. Growth is happening even when results are quiet.
Purpose is often revealed by contrast. Pay attention to what exhausts your spirit, not just your body. If something consistently leaves you bitter, resentful, or numb, it may be a sign you are misaligned, not ungrateful.
Leadership that has never served usually struggles to last. Purpose matures when you show up for others without needing a title. Sometimes alignment begins with helping quietly, faithfully, and without Instagram stories.
Faith is not about appearing spiritual. It is about becoming anchored. Prayer is not a performance. It is alignment. Stillness is not laziness. It is recalibration. God often speaks softly, not urgently.
There is pressure to “make it” early. But becoming too quickly can be dangerous. Purpose needs character to carry it. Speed without depth usually ends in burnout or scandal. Neither is a good testimony.
Not every struggle is destiny. Some are lessons. Some are warnings. Some are simply bad decisions that taught you wisdom. Extract the lesson and move forward. Do not build identity around pain.
You will rarely have the full picture. Alignment usually begins with the next small step, not the full roadmap. Do what you know. Show up where you are. Purpose unfolds as you move, not before.
Purpose is not a dramatic reveal moment.
It is a quiet alignment between who you are, what you believe, and how you live. And if you ever feel behind, remember this.
Becoming is not a race. It is a responsibility. You are not late.
You are learning.
